The 5 Body Parts Men Are Waxing. Yes, Men.

By Zoe Greenwood, January 10 2019

Yep – men wax, and a lot too. A huge percentage of men have now jumped on the waxing trend over the past couple of years. While you may be reading this thinking “ouchie’, making sure you’re properly groomed has never been so important. More importantly, after all these years of men claiming that we were being “over-dramatic’ when getting a wax, they now know what we were talking about (if you’re new to waxing, don’t let this put you off, it gets easier, we promise).

Now most men don’t go all out and get a full body wax unlike us women (although they’re not too far off), but there are 5 common areas which we find men to prefer getting waxed. Baby-smooth skin is now everyone’s dream and rightly so!

Back and Shoulders

We found this to be the most popular area to be waxed. Hairy backs are an issue that many men have and, while it’s not a problem, getting it waxed can sometimes make them feel more comfortable especially if it’s patchy. Obviously, there is such a thing as “DIY home waxing’, but you might face some difficulties waxing your own back (everyone loves a trier though!).

Chest

Getting that beach bod ready always starts with a good old chest wax. Not everyone has a hairy chest, but the main reason people get it waxed is actually due to the thickness of the hair. Waxing regularly helps the hair grow back thinner and slower. So, while you may be thinking is it worth the pain just remember how little you’ll have to wax in the long run. Hair takes a long time to grow back when waxed compared to shaving – and let’s not forget, waxed skin feels a lot smoother than shaved.

Legs

It may not seem like the most popular, but you would be surprised by the number of men who get their legs waxed. We mean, men like showing off their legs as well and what better way than with smooth skin? In fact, with tattoos becoming a bigger trend, some men actually get their legs waxed so that their tats are clearer. After all, a bunch of hair might get in the way of a cool design – what would you rather see?

Private Area

Yep, yep, yep – ouch! Even this makes us cringe, but women get it done, so why wouldn’t men. Once again, you could try this at home, but we think we can all agree (for both ladies and men) that getting a professional to wax “down there’ is a more comforting option than risk doing it yourself.

Face

Unless you’ve been hiding from social media, you would have noticed that facial waxes have become so common among men. They’re actually pretty satisfying to watch. Men get their eyebrows shaped, their beards shaped (those that can grow beards of course) and just any peach fuzz waxed away which gives a neat and groomed look – perfect if you’re looking to impress anyone!

Either you know what we’re talking about or you’re intrigued about the whole waxing malarkey, but if you’re looking to get a wax (or some more information, at least), why not book with LeSalon? One reason why men aren’t always fond of waxing is that they don’t feel completely comfortable just walking into a salon, and we get this. But with LeSalon, our therapists come to you – all you have to do is sit back and relax in the comfort of your own home!
