The Battle Of The Hollywood And Brazilian Wax: Which One Is For You?

By Grace Lindsay, December 8 2020

Hollywood vs. Brazil, one of the longest standing battles of all time. Well, in the beauty world anyway. Both the Hollywood and the Brazilian are different styles of waxing “down under’. If you are considering getting a tidy up down there, read on to find out which style is best suited for you.

We are talking you through each wax individually, so you can weigh up the pros and cons, and so you’re not overwhelmed when you get to the salon and they start asking you which style you want! After reading this, you can go in there with confidence, knowing you will be coming out with a v-jay-jay you can be proud of!

Hollywood Wax

In typical Hollywood fashion, the more the merrier, and there is no exception when it comes to waxing. The more they can get rid of, they will. Quite simply, a Hollywood wax gets rid of everythaaang. By the time you walk out of the salon, you will be looking (and feeling) pretty bare down there. Hair is removed from the front, middle and all the way to the back (if you know what we’re saying). If it’s a windy day, you will definitely be able to tell after one of these.

A lot of people are skeptical as they are worried about the pain, but if you go to a trusted beauty therapist, they will make sure that your experience is as quick and painless as possible. If the thought of stripping off in front of your therapist is also putting you off, think about wearing a loose fitting dress or skirt to your appointment, so all you will have to do is lift it up! Plus, this will be much more comfortable after your wax rather than having to put tight trousers on. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Another big reason why people are often afraid to get a Hollywood wax is because they are fearful of being asked to be put in a whole load of uncomfortable positions. It’s a valid fear, I mean how else does the technician make sure to do a thorough job? We won’t lie to you, during a Hollywood wax you may find yourself with your legs in the air at some point, but just remember, your therapist has seen it all before! As soon as you walk out of the salon they will be onto the next one, so it’s really not as embarrassing as you think! Some even like to think of it as a mini stretching session. A workout and a wax in one? Sign us up!

We hope after reading this you are feeling a lot more clued up about a Hollywood wax, after all, it’s one of the most popular choices among women these days. However, if you’re still not convinced, perhaps a Brazilian is more suited to you, read on to find out all about it!

Brazilian Wax

A Brazilian wax differs from a Hollywood wax in the sense that a small amount of hair is often left in the front. The shape of this is usually up to you, you can choose from a range of options such as a square, a triangle or an oval. But hey, we are here to talk about waxing, not maths, so let’s get onto the juicy stuff! A Brazilian wax is similar to a Hollywood wax in the sense that it also removes most of the hair from front to back (in case you haven’t realised what we are talking about by now, we are in fact referring to your bum). So apart from the lil bit of fluff that is left at the front, you will be ready to hit the beach in your bikini, knowing everything is taken care of.

People often opt for a Brazilian over a Hollywood as they don’t want all of their hair removed. We don’t blame you, there is nothing wrong with a bit of hair down there in our option. Our bodies, our decision!

If you like the sound of a Hollywood or a Brazilian, but don’t fancy heading to a salon to get one done, why not book an at-home wax with one of our mobile beauty therapists? Here at LeSalon, we offer professional beauty treatments in the comfort of your own home, so you can lie down and relax, whilst we get to work!

You can read more about waxing over on our blog!
