Why massage therapy is the ultimate relaxation technique
No individual wouldn’t benefit from a massage treatment. The best part about massages is that they are universal and can be used as a general relaxing experience or to remedy specific pains and trigger points in the body. Everything is customisable including the pressure, focus area, and type.
There are many different forms of relaxing massage with equally beneficial qualities, it is up to you to decide which is best suited for you. We’re here to help you differentiate between the different massage styles to help form an educated decision.
Swedish Massage
One of the leading types of massage is Swedish massage. This tends to be a more grounding, all-round relaxing experience. Many individuals who are new to the world of massage will tend to opt for this choice, and with good reasoning!
Swedish massage uses gentle to moderate pressure to help loosen any knots and relax the body from any built-up tension. Our bodies can hold a lot of stress internally, which is why a massage is a very beneficial experience.
Techniques include rubbing, kneading, and vibrations. The nervous system can greatly benefit from these relaxing movements, helping to reduce stress and release endorphins to help you feel lighter and mellowed.
Deep Tissue Massage
The other common massage type is Deep Tissue massage. In contrast to Swedish massage, Deep Tissue allows your mobile technician to identify key trigger points and specific areas to target. Deeper pressure is used to relieve the connective tissue and muscles, allowing the body to heal from any injury or painful pressure.
Massage techniques included are similar to those of a Swedish massage, however the pressure is typically stronger to reach the tendons, ligaments and tissue.
Hand Massage
Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Hand massages can be an extremely relaxing experience to help you get out of your head and enjoy the present moment. Gentle pressure is used to stroke, bend and pinch any area ranging from the forearm to the tip of the fingers.
Whilst being a truly relaxing experience, hand massages can have therapeutic benefits to improve the condition of your body. If you suffer from neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis, hand massages can help promote mobility and sensation in the hand and wrist area. We recommend that you speak to your doctor before booking a hand massage if you suffer from a painful, chronic condition.
Foot Massage
Much like a hand massage, there’s more to a foot massage than meets the eye. Cortisol is the body’s natural stress hormone, and by applying deep pressure onto the solar plexus (a tight group of nerves) of the foot, your cortisol levels can drop.
The foot is known to have energy connected to different areas located around the body. This means that a simple foot massage can become a full-body experience and better your general health and wellbeing.

"Francesca gave a really nice service for my mum on mothers day ( mum is housebound). She was friendly and made my mum feel pampered and relaxed, she also was very polite and arrived a little ahead of time. She did her best to accommodate my mum and ensure she was comfortable at all times. Only negative is I wish she double checked that my mum's nails were dry before she left as they chipped shortly after but I would use her services again"
